Presentations by
Christine Richmond

on behaviour management for
teachers, school leaders and parents

Dr Richmond offers a number of professional learning presentations aimed at helping those working with young people who display challenging behaviour. Her practical, generic and minimalist approach to behaviour management allows teachers and school leaders to reduce their frustration and get on with what they do best, educating students.

Many teachers agree that behaviour management is the most frustrating and time consuming part of their work. Essential techniques for effectively managing students can be acquired by teachers and school leaders when they are exposed to appropriate information and committed to reflective practice. Dr Richmond provides that information by showing professionals how to enhance their existing strengths and let go of less useful practices. She cuts through the complex and sometimes contradictory behaviour management information that is currently available with a presentation style that is engaging and professionally stimulating.

Her work provides teachers with information about how to reduce the time and effort they spend in behaviour management focussed conversations with students. The key outcome for participants is more time and energy to expend in learning focussed conversations as shown in this model of interactions within a lesson.
